Joe Hare, Associate Director of the Human Capital Lab at Bellevue University, explain how his company successfully deployed social learning technology across a workforce of 900 knowledge workers.  He discusses how social tools such as “do it yourself” online videos and online communities have increased productivity and engagement by providing employees with the information they need to perform their jobs effectively.    This technology has proven particularly valuable for capturing and sharing hard-to-define “tacit” or contextual knowledge that reflects unique insights into work that traditionally were only gained through years of on-the-job experience.
